This gesture is the Satanic salute, a sign of recognition between and allegiance of members of Satanism or other unholy groups.
In today's apostate society, many people scoff at the idea that Rock music is Satanic or demonically inspired. I can say assuredly, Rock 'N' Roll is "the Devil's music."
Music is a spiritual medium through which philosophies, emotions and agendas are conveyed.
Demonic Spirits... The "Spirit of Rock 'N' Roll"
The Bible states in Ephesians 2:2... "Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience." Satan is a spirit. Demons are spirits. God is a Spirit (John 4:24). God created man in His threefold image of body, soul and spirit. Man is a spirit. As such, the human spirit is susceptible to spiritual influences by other sprits, whether they be good or evil. This is how Rock 'N' Roll can be demonically inspired and inspiring. It is a matter of spiritual influence.
Satan and Music
Concerning Satan, the Scriptures WARN:
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" (1st Peter 5:8).
Also in John 10:10 Jesus warned...
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy..."
The preceding passages of Scripture clearly reveal to us some interesting facts about Satan:
- Satan is a fallen angel (Isaiah 14:12, Ezekiel 28:14,16)
- Satan clearly has natural musical abilities (Isaiah 14:11; Ezekiel 28:13)
- Satan seeks to devour (to kill, steal and destroy) as many lives as he can (1st Peter 5:8, John 10:10).
Satan is a musical genius. Music is a natural ability of Satan. He’s a musical being and he has extensive experience having used it to worship God before his fall. It’s no wonder we find musician after musician influenced supernaturally when it comes to music. Our prayer is that people would realize the powerful influence Satan has over much of today’s music, as the scriptures above reveal.
Conclusion
Music is spiritual, i.e., it directly affects one's spirit and mood. Music has the ability to control our emotions—to make us cry, stomp our foot, make us angry, or cause us to dance to the rhythm. Since Satan is a spirit, he is able to influence our spirit through the media of music. Singer, John Denver, stated: "Music is a greater influence over the souls of men than primitive Christianity." I'd say music is an extremely powerful influence.
It is common knowledge that the U.S. Military uses Heavy Metal music to motivate their troops to kill and to intimidate the enemy. During the American invasion of Panama in 1989, troops blasted AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" in order to drive Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega from the Vatican embassy where he had taken refuge (a tactic also used by the FBI at Waco).

Crowley was the Master Satanist of the 20th Century The hierarchy of the Secret-Societies have been deeply involved in the Black-Occult since they have existed. This includes the ritual sacrifice of children and babies. This knowledge has been kept from the minds of society at large until more recently. Unbeknownst to most Americans, much of the Hellish music which they idolize was written and sang by devout followers of Crowley and his Satanism.

The song "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones, is the official anthem for the Church of Satan. In it, Lucifer speaks in the first person and asks sympathy for all who meet him. Lead singer, Mick Jagger claims that Anton LaVey, the founder of the Church of Satan and author of the Satanic Bible, helped inspire their music! Their album titled, "Their Satanic Majesties Request", leaves no doubt to their allegiance!

Believe it or not! Here's Amy Grant, on the Michael W. Smith, In Concert (Reunion Records, 1985) video tape flashing the "Satanic salute." This is NOT the sign language for "I love you", where the thumb is openly extended. Amy deliberately flashes the "satanic salute" at least two separate times on the video, displaying it for several seconds. Amy is promoting Satan. There is a definite spirit invoked in rock music, secular or Christian - and it's NOT the Holy Spirit! And many times, people involved in rock music get "caught up in this unholy spirit"! Amy is no Christian

Faith Hill Featured in Playboy!
Faith Hill (birth name: Audrey Faith Perry) is an imposter! She claims to be a Christian; yet, she allows herself to be featured in demonic Playboy magazine:

JARS OF CLAY names Jimmy Hendrix and the Beatles as their inspiration (Dann Denny, “Christian Rock,” Sunday Herald Times, Bloomington, Ind., Feb. 8, 1998). The lead guitarist for Jars of Clay is said to be a “Beatles fanatic” (Christian News, Dec. 8, 1997). When asked by Christianity Today to list their musical influences, Jars of Clay members “listed no Christian artists” (Christianity Today, Nov. 15, 1999). Jars of Clay performs Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” during their concerts. Osbourne is the filthy-mouthed former lead singer for the occultic rock group Black Sabbath. Though members of Black Sabbath today claim it was all done in innocence and “fun,” they promoted occultic themes through their music and concerts, including upside down crosses and altar calls for Satan. They blasphemed Jesus Christ and railed against the authority of the God of the Bible. Osbourne has almost died several times because of his outrageous drug abuse and alcoholism. He has bitten the head off of a live bat in concert. He has dressed in women’s clothing and stripped off most of his clothes during concerts. At one point he attempted to kill his wife and had to be jailed. He is deeply scarred by his savage lifestyle and maintains a semblance of normalcy today through the drug Prozac. Ozzy Osbourne is of the Devil.
